Islam is a great competitor at attracting followers because it excells in submission. Christianity will compete at its best at attracting followers when excelling in an alternative to submission, which is standing up straight, uprightness, and having nothing to do with submission. The name of Christianity when it excells in standing up straight is Power Christianity.
How a Christian person excells in standing up straight in manner and attitude:
Does not physically bow down or kneel to anyone or anything, including God and Christ. Prayers are done with an erect posture and erect attitude.
Deals with God and other humans as one businessman to another; self interest meets self interest, resulting in contracts. "I will bless you with X if you follow commandment Y" is one offer from God which a Christian may accept. This is the attitude of the heroes in the novels by Ayn Rand.
Does not shy away from showing her or his faith in Christ. This may include praying around other people as long as it does not interfere with their physical activities, asking another Christian in front of non-Christians "Going to Church this week-end?", or asking a person that have an abundance of the Holy Spirit if he or she is a Christian.
Generally has a good physical posture, good eye-contact with others, experiences and owns her or his own needs and feelings, takes ownership of her or his own thoughts.
Does not hesitate to satisfy her or his own righteous needs, both spiritual, social, emotional and physical. This includes not hesitating to persuade others, as long as the intention is good or neutral. One need may be to convert others to Christianity.
Seeks both a high level of conflict (like saying "no") and cooperation (like saying "yes") in relationships, which is the most fertile combination.
Being a Power Christian may be scary, but the motto should be "feel the fear but do it anyway" (which, by the way, is courage.)
These points does not exclude anyone from being of a good cheer!
The attitude of a Power Christian towards God is not one of submission, but of upright power, reflecting the strength of God. When a Power Christian encounters God, they are not overwhelmed by the boundless power before them; instead, they are reminded of the inherent power within themselves. God desires his people to be strong and upright, not submissive. It saddens God when humans submit merely because they perceive a superior power.
A faithful person should not feel guilty for seeking help from God, for two reasons. First, God possesses limitless power, making it effortless for him to assist anyone with anything. Second, God desires the best for his children, making it in his own interest to help.
A Power Christian is a mighty individual, possessing innate strengths and also having God on his or her side. The Power Christian's attitude towards God and others can be likened to the heroes in Ayn Rand's novels, such as Howard Roark. The Power Christian does not surrender to God; rather, they engage with God like one businessperson to another. There is no begging; instead, he or she makes deals with God. Walking alongside God, both parties respect each other's free will and capacity for rational thought.
A Power Christian does not conceal their faith. They proudly stand as who they are, sometimes even praying openly in public. When a Power Christian recognizes God's reflection in another human, they are not humbled into submission by the infinate power they associate with God; instead, they are reminded of their own strength and power, his or her posture reflecting that.
Some individuals face sickness or overwhelming problems. The Power Christian feels compassion for them, desiring their return to strength.
Power Christianity is the key to making Christianity the dominant religion around the world. Combining love with power is the winning formula. While Islam excels in submission, traditional Christianity's meek submission to God is a losing concept. Christianity must therefore discard submission and wholeheartedly embrace power, coupled with love.
During prayer, the Power Christian does not bow down; they stand tall with a powerful posture, possibly with their eyes open, which is the opposite of the Muslim prayer which focus on submission.
Three thousand years ago, and even two thousand years ago, when the Bible was written, humans might have had to kneel before their earthly rulers or face dire consequences. It might have been a cultural norm to bend the knee to earthly authorities. However, a righteous and winning culture for now and the future involves standing before God with strength and might. There exists mutual respect between God and humans as both are creatures of free will and rational thinking, both on the same team in the quest to prepare humans for glory in the afterlife.
When Muslims shows signs of their faith, like when they pray during work, or wear head scarfs, they show vulnarability. This takes bravery. Bravery is respectable. To compete with Muslims, Christians needs to show vulnarability too. How can Christians show vulnarability? They can pray in public, for starters. Another way is to show strong kindness to others. Strong kindness is all kinds of kindness except the ones that make you look weak.
If you know of Christian denominations or other religions that works like this, I would like to know.
